「Sharapova responds to French Open wildcard decision | WTA Tennis」
Maria Sharapova has released a statement on social media following yesterdays announcement from the Fdration Franaise de Tennis that she will not receive a wildcard into the French Open.
If this is what it takes to rise up again, then I am in it all the way, every day, she wrote. No words, games, or actions will ever stop me from reaching my own dreams. And I have many.
Sharapova, 30, a two-time French Open champion, had hoped to receive a wildcard for Roland Garros following her return from suspension for a violation of anti-doping rules.
She has played WTA tournaments in Stuttgart, Madrid and Rome and was forced to retire through injury from her match against Mirjana Lucic-Baroni in the second round of the Internazionali BNL dItalia yesterday.
